Ransone, Susan-Upper Elementary Social Studies

Susan joined the TDS in the spring of 2019 as the interim information technology instructor. In the fall
of 2019, she joined the faculty as the fifth and sixth-grade social studies instructor. In addition to history,
geography, economics, culture, and society, civics and government are studied in the curriculum.
Her students can be found immersed in the past while investigating solutions to current events
through classroom projects. Using varied teaching strategies brings the classroom alive and relevant today.

She earned her M.B.A. from Middle Tennessee State University. After graduation, she worked in the
political arena for fifteen years and integrated some of her experiences into the curriculum, thus bringing
some of the subject material to life. She further has a unique perspective in her classroom as the mother
of a former TDS student.
