Ransone, Susan-Upper Elementary Social Studies

Susan Ransone, Social Studies TeacherSusan joined the TDS in the spring of 2019 as the interim information technology instructor. In the fall
of 2019, she joined the faculty as the fifth and sixth-grade social studies instructor. In addition to history,
geography, economics, culture and society, civics and government are studied as part of the curriculum.
Her students can be found totally immersed in the past while investigating solutions to current events
through classroom projects. The usage of varied teaching strategies brings the classroom alive with
relevance in today’s world.

She earned her M.B.A. from Middle Tennessee State University. After graduation, she worked in the
political arena for fifteen years and integrates some of her experiences into the curriculum thus bringing
to life some of the subject material. She further has a unique perspective in her classroom as the mother
of a former TDS student.

      She enjoys spending time with her husband and their two teenage sons. She is an avid reader. She and
her family enjoy water sports including swimming and boating.
